The Institute for Information and Process Management at the University of Applied Sciences of Eastern Switzerland in St. Gallen supports SMEs and public service providers in questions of effective and efficient use of IT systems - through research, services as well as training and further education measures.
The methodological core competencies of the institute include business process management, data protection and security, knowledge and information management, requirements engineering and IT management.
eHealth and mobile health are an important research focus of the Institute. On the one hand, the aim is to optimise internal business or network processes and the cooperation between the actors in the healthcare system (patients, hospitals, doctors, nurses, therapists, laboratories and insurance companies). On the other hand, innovative technologies are used to support patients, for example through mobile apps, in prevention, health monitoring, in dealing with chronic diseases and in post-hospital care.
